Inner Child and the self

The concept of the inner child is a psychological idea that suggests the
experiences and emotions that we had during our childhood continue to influence
us as adults.

Our inner child represents the childlike part of ourselves
that is still present within us, regardless of our age.

Many psychologists believe that our inner child remains with us throughout
our lives, and that it is an important part of our emotional and psychological
wellbeing.

When we neglect or suppress our inner child, we can experience a range of
negative emotions, such as anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem.

One of the keyways to connect with our inner child is to engage in
activities that promote playfulness and creativity.

These can include things like drawing, singing, painting, dancing, or
playing games. By engaging in these activities, we can tap into our inner child
and allow ourselves to experience the joy and excitement that we may have felt
as children.

Another important aspect of connecting with our inner child is to
validate and acknowledge the emotions and experiences that we had as children.
This means allowing ourselves to feel and express any unprocessed emotions or
memories that we may have from our childhood. By doing this, we can begin to
heal any emotional wounds that we may have carried with us into adulthood.

There are many different ways to connect with our inner child, and the
process may look different for each person. However, the key is to approach it
with an open mind and a willingness to explore and connect with the childlike
part of ourselves.

By doing so, we can experience greater emotional and psychological
wellbeing, and live more fulfilling lives.
